ABOUT US
We love that our business and podcast feature TWO women that share a lot of similarities but just as many differences. Let us tell you a little bit more about ourselves!
Meet Abby Green
I’m a type A woman that loves nothing more than a finished to-do list and a tidy house. This felt DOABLE until our second child joined the mix. All of the sudden I was overwhelmed, frustrated, and my Achiever heart was breaking as I felt like I was just scraping by in every area of my life.
This launched me into my own self-improvement journey. I had to learn what I could let go of, where I needed my partner to step up, and I knew I needed help in ALL the places (think therapy, life and business coaching, and even hiring out the laundry!).
Now that my feet are more firmly planted on the ground, I’m here to share my journey in order to help other women navigate theirs.

Career
I spent 10 years working in a sales role. Achievement in Corporate America was my jam…until I became a mom and my working purpose shifted. HERself was born in 2019 and put me on a new career path. I went part-time at work before eventually leaving all together. Pursuing HER Purpose was launched in 2021, and now these two businesses light me up. I recently became a University of Wisconsin Certified Personal and Business Coach.
Meet Amy Kiefer
Forever and always a true type B. Although it FEELS like there are less of us out there, I love to shine a light on the challenges and triumphs that come with our personality type. Because my husband is the opposite (a type A, first-born Achiever), I’m able to give insight into how we navigate this dynamic inside of our relationship and parenthood.
As I’ve shared on many podcast episodes, motherhood swallowed me up. As a first-time mom, the pressure I was putting on myself was enough to make anyone crack. I lost track of being AMY outside of being a mom. My pride was getting in the way of asking for help. And, just like Abby, once our second child came, I just knew I couldn’t carry the mom guilt and invisible load of parenting anymore.
I wanted to give a voice to the experience of reclaiming yourself after kids because I know for so many of us it is a journey.

Hardest part of motherhood for me
The demand. With 3 little boys, rare is the moment that someone doesn’t need something. Although, I will say it is getting better with age.
Hardest part of marriage for me
Having enough patience and energy for Drew after all the demands of work and motherhood. I don’t want to just give him the leftovers, but that certainly happens at times.

Career
A long and winding path led me to where I am today…exactly where I’m meant to be. I’ve worked as a personal trainer, nursing assistant, nurse, and blogger before jumping into the entrepreneur space with the launch of Expecting and Empowered in 2017. We started HERself in 2019, which is when I left nursing to put my energy and focus into these two growing businesses and thriving communities. In 2021, I added Pursuing HER Purpose to my list of business ventures.
